Senior Symantec and Vontu Executive, James Arra to Drive Expansion as Demand Accelerates for TRUSTe’s Privacy and Online Trust Solutions
San Francisco, Calif. – September 15, 2009 - TRUSTe, the most widely recognized trustmark on the internet and recognized leader in online trust and reputation, announced today that James Arra, formerly a senior sales leader at Symantec/Vontu, has been named Vice President of Sales. James brings more than 20 years of high tech sales experience to TRUSTe, having significantly accelerated the revenue growth of several startup, pre-IPO and public companies.
At TRUSTe, James will use his proven expertise to lead the sales of TRUSTe’s privacy services and seal programs and significantly grow the TRUSTe customer base. Increasing concerns about identify theft, malware and compromised access to personal information has heightened consumer and business interest in online privacy. TRUSTe has responded with new products and service capabilities and is now expanding its team to reach the broad range of companies, large and small, which can use TRUSTe solutions to build online confidence and boost sales.

James previously held sales leadership positions at early-stage companies including Vontu, Rearden Commerce and FreeMarkets. Leading the Worldwide Territory and Channel sales teams at Vontu, in a two-year period James increased their SMB business by over 300%. Before that, James held the position of Vice President and General Manager at FreeMarkets, where he made significant contributions to the company’s impressive growth from $16 million to over $180 million and a highly successful IPO.
James holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Quantitative Economics and Decision Theory from University of California San Diego.
