Web Developer

TRUSTe is seeking a talented, experienced Web Developer to join its engineering team. The Web Developer will own the User Interface of major website projects from inception to development and delivery, working closely with an agile team including the Visual Designer, Product Owners and Development team.

Responsibilities:

Own front-end layout and visual execution for TRUSTe
Work closely with Platform Architect to expand TRUSTe ecommerce storefront
Build online customer portal framework to enable customer segment specific experiences (eg enterprise, SMB, partner)
Build reporting dashboards for internal and external use
Create vision for unified web visual look and feel across all truste.com properties
Act as subject matter expert on Web UI design and implementation
Report to the Vice President, Engineering

Personal Attributes:

Experience of working in a start-up environment preferred
Self starter able to proactively solve problems and work without much supervision as the sole developer on a major feature area
Ability to design, develop, iterate on a rapid basis
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Understanding of latest innovations, trends and emerging technologies in web user interface development

Required Skills:

BS in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience
5 years minimum experience with HTML/XHTML and CSS
3 years minimum experience with Java based web applications
HTML (hand coded), XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, JSON in JavaScript
Experience in achieving ‘pixel perfection’ by solving cross browser compatibility and layout issues
Experience with web page performance tools such as YSlow
Strong templating/layout skills
Experience developing rapid prototypes and rapidly iterating designs
Development experience using extensible web authoring tools
Experience of developing innovative ecommerce solutions (storefronts, portals, customer engagement)
Experience developing and implementing open source software projects

Desired Skills:

Experience of Agile development methodologies such as Scrum
Experience working with relational database systems such as MySQL, MSSQL or PostGRES and a good working knowledge of SQL

Note: Portfolio of previous design & development work is required
