TRUSTe Terminates Relationship with eHow

July 23, 2001 – TRUSTe today advises the community that it has terminated its relationship with eHow as it has failed to comply with the requirements of the TRUSTe Privacy Seal program.

Today, TRUSTe sent a formal notice to eHow, terminating the license agreement between eHow and TRUSTe. As of July 18, 2001, eHow failed to comply with the requirements under the TRUSTe License Agreement regarding notification of any changes made to its privacy statement and has not made any attempt to resolve the problem to TRUSTe's satisfaction.

TRUSTe is currently monitoring eHow's actions, as the company moves forward with bankruptcy proceedings.

TRUSTe has alerted appropriate government officials to the situation and will continue to keep the community apprised of any new developments in this case and take appropriate actions to protect consumers from privacy violation.
